I am calling on residents in Albany Creek and Eatons Hill to join my fight for better bus services, to help cut traffic congestion. That's why I've started a petition calling on Translink to provide more services, especially off-peak, into these suburbs. As you know, these areas are home to many young people who rely on public transport to get to university, work, or to socialise, often in off-peak times. You can sign the petition here.
The fight to improve roads and transport in the northwest had taken another big step forward. I have convinced the Government to fund two more important road upgrades for our area.
Sections of Eatons Crossing Road in Eatons Hill, and the intersection of South Pine Road, Albany Creek Road and Flamingo Drive at Albany Creek, will be upgraded to improve safety for motorists.
Stage 1 of Samford/Wardell upgrade is open!
I have just inspected the new turning lane with Member for Ashgrove, Kate Jones, and Member for Ferny Grove, Geoff Wilson. It's great to see this lane opened and it's already helping you get home sooner. Stage 2 will make further improvements. Thanks to all who campaigned with us to make this happen.
Report Card
Since I was elected in 2009 I have been working hard to fight congestion, improve school facilities, protect our community and meet growing health needs. Hear what some locals have to say about what has been achieved.

Stafford Road/South Pine Road intersection
You know that improving traffic and public transport is my number one priority.
My campaign to fix the Stafford Rd/South Pine Rd intersection has taken a big step forward, with the State Government seeking feedback on proposed designs to fix the intersection.
Safety for seniors
We all want to know that we're doing the best things we can to look after ourselves. I was delighted to have Minister for Police, Emergency Services and Corrective Services Neil Roberts join Kate Jones MP, Stirling Hinchliffe MP and myself at a morning tea for seniors, held at the Enoggera Bowls Club.
Tougher penalties for hoons
Lots of people in Albany Creek raise the issue of hooning with me. I have lobbied to have the hooning laws toughened, and the State Government has approved stronger penalties for all types of hooning and dangerous driving offences. Read more here
